The house is nestled in the private green residential area of Coombe within the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames. The brief was to fully refurbish the whole family house.
Working closely with the Local Authority Planning Department we have taken great care to design a two storey rear extension respectful of the nature of the area.
Our main idea for the project of this detached house was to create a dialogue between the interior of the house and the surrounding nature whilst achieving a very strong visual connection between the front and the rear of the house. The project included the improvement of the internal layout, with open plan kitchen-dining area and bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The extensions of all three floors at the back of the house were thoughtfully designed with exceptional quality finish materials. The use of full height glazed sliding doors at the Ground Floor and First Floor provided an open flow from the interior onto to the stunning view over the surrounding woodlands and Nature Reserve. The newly redesigned loft area resulted in spacious and bright bedrooms connected with the roof terrace completed with outdoor bar and hand-made wooden pergola.
